Beaumonde

Heavily industrialized, Beaumonde of the manufacturing hub of the system. Cities are surrounded by factories that produce everything from computer parts to ceramic coffee mugs. Many of these factories are owned by the Blue Sun Corporation, though rumor has it that not all of these are really factories at all, and if they are, they are turning out something much more serious than prepackaged food. Security is tight on these plants, and no one has been able to get in or out with information.
Due to the high amount of industrialization output, pollution is a huge problem. Beaumonde’s cities are covered in an almost constant haze. Weather control processing systems put out the worst of the pollution. Every year, as more and more pollutants are pumped into the water and soil, it becomes more difficult to live off the land. Because of this, many individuals have moved their homes and businesses underground to escape the air pollution.
Once out of the cities, the air quality improves a bit. Farmers and Ranchers are able to make good living. Beaumonde also supports a thriving spaceport, comparable to the Eavesdown Docks on Persephone.
New Dunsmuir is the capital city of Beaumonde. It is the only one on the planet that has no factories. Located on an ocean, New Dunsmuir is a popular tourist destination. Many wealthy factory owners make their homes here, as do those who work in the tourist industry. It is a beautiful city with avenues of trees and carefully maintained flower gardens.

Landing here is supposedly regulated, but the traffic is so heavy that the harried The Alliance officials who try to police this have mostly throw up their hands in frustration. Sometimes they don’t even bother to ask what your business is.
